Kym Spring Thompson, PsyD, IMH-E® (IV-C)
Dr. Kym Spring Thompson is a licensed clinical psychologist and the founder of Flourish Psychology, LLC, a practice dedicated to supporting children and families through a compassionate, evidence-based approach. With a deep passion for helping individuals and families thrive, Dr. Thompson specializes in Infant and Early Childhood Mental Health, as well as Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorders. Dr. Thompson holds the prestigious designation of Infant Mental Health Mentor (IMH-E®) and is committed to mentoring fellow professionals in the field. Through Flourish Psychology, she incorporates specialized methods such as Parent-Child Interactional Therapy (PCIT) and the Circle of Security approach to strengthen parent-child relationships, support emotional development, and manage early childhood behavioral issues.
APA Consultant
Christine Petranovich, PhD
Dr. Petranovich is an Assistant Professor at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus and a clinical neuropsychologist in the Department of Rehabilitation at Children’s Hospital Colorado. Clinically, Dr. Petranovich focuses on supporting adolescents and young adults with disabilities, particularly traumatic brain injury (TBI), as they prepare for success in early adulthood. Her work includes neuropsychological assessment, group-based interventions, and the development of skills to promote independence. Her research focuses on protective and modifiable risk factors during the transition to adulthood among individuals with rehabilitation-related medical conditions, as well as factors influencing healthcare continuity in young adulthood.
CNA/ANCC Primary Nurse Planner
Christine Frank, BSN, RN
Christine Frank has worked in both home health and hospital-based services. She initially worked in private duty pediatric nursing, providing overnight, in-home care for medically complex young children. Her role was to provide clinical support, guidance, and parental education. Currently, Ms. Frank practices on the postpartum unit at Rose Medical Center providing care for mothers and newborns. Ms. Frank provides infant health assessments, feeding support, safe sleep education, and patient monitoring in her role on the unit.
AOTA OT Consultant
Amanda Shimkus, OTR/L, SIPT-C, IMHS-E
Amanda Shimkus has been a practicing occupational therapist since 2007 with several specializations within the early intervention field. She is certified in Sensory Integration and Praxis Test Certification, endorsed by the Infant Mental Health Organization of Colorado as an Infant Mental Health Specialist, and certified in the BABIES Pre-Steps Model of Assessment of Prematurity. Ms. Shimkus also has additional training in the following specialties: Neurodevelopmental Treatment (NDT), Constraint Induced Movement Therapy (CIMT), Neuromuscular Re-Education Stimulation (NMES), and Assistive Technology. Her previous work experience includes Easter Seals (Chicago), Peek-a-Boo pediatric private practice, and Summit Continuing Education. Ms. Shimkus currently works with Early Intervention Colorado providing home-based assessment, intervention, and treatment programs for children with special needs.
